The Working Lunch Through Live, One-of-a-Kind, Online Experience

More and more office workers are trapped at their desks during the lunch hour. In fact, according to a recent Omnibus survey, 60 percent of office workers in the United States said they eat lunch at their desks at least once or twice a week.(i)

To accommodate this growing trend and bring humor into the work day, Healthy Choice has joined forces with MSN to introduce the "The Working Lunch" a unique Web site featuring a live, four-hour show consisting of improvised sketch-theme comedy segments, directed by visitors.

Through streaming video technology, this unpredictable, live program is brought to life in the new "prime time" of today's time-crunched office workers. From Nov. 12 through Nov. 25, for 10 consecutive business days, between the hours of 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. EST, Web site visitors to www.workinglunch.msn.com can participate in the digital experience by voting on sketch themes and directing the improvisational comedy group, which includes Second City alumni and actors from the new Healthy Choice Fresh Mixers television commercials.

The live improvised performances will take the form of an actual office meeting, and the ensemble cast will integrate Healthy Choice Fresh Mixers meals, new complete, freshly prepared and healthful lunch options that can be stored in a desk or a pantry, into each sketch. Once produced, the day's shows will be archived on the site. Condensed sketches are embeddable, making them easy to share with friends across the Internet.

According to Nielsen in 2008, people between the ages of 25 and 54 consume 90 percent of their total Internet usage time during working lunch hours, between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.(ii)

"'The Working Lunch,' just like Healthy Choice Fresh Mixers, is designed to give busy office workers a lunch hour they can look forward to," said Michael Locascio, vice president of marketing at ConAgra Foods. "This interactive experience provides the online entertainment and humor that deskbound and time-strapped office workers are seeking, while underscoring the convenience, great taste and nutritional value of Healthy Choice Fresh Mixers."

"Our Branded Entertainment and Experiences Team is thrilled to be partnering with Healthy Choice Fresh Mixers to provide our audience with exactly what they need, a break from the work day," said Michael Sigenthaler, director, MSN Branded Entertainment and Experiences. "'The Working Lunch,' is a fast, humorous and entertaining snack that allows our customers to control what they will see next."

"The Working Lunch" is the next step in the overall Healthy Choice Fresh Mixers launch and the growing movement to enhance the way people eat lunch during the work day. This virtual experience will continue with a fresh series of live, online meeting sketches in January 2009.

Healthy Choice Fresh Mixers meals are priced at $3.49 each and can be found in the pasta or prepared-foods aisle.

They are available in six fresh-tasting varieties, including Sweet & Sour Chicken, Sesame Teriyaki Chicken, Ziti & Meat Sauce, Rotini & Zesty Marinara Sauce, Southwestern Style Chicken and Szechwan Beef with Asian Style Noodles.

The Brazilian Acai Absorbs Much Better Than Any Other Fruit

Since being touted as a metabolism booster, weight reducer and athletic enhancer, sales of acai products have dramatically increased in the U.S. These berries are considered exotic- being harvested in the Brazilian rainforest from acai palms that may reach heights in excess of 60 feet - one of the same palms used to harvest edible hearts of palm.

Though very little research has been done on the Amazonian wonder berry, its benefits are widely raved about from personalities to medical experts. The first of its research conducted by the Texas AgriLife Research scientists have found out that the acai (ah-sigh-EE) berry has the ability to be absorbed in the human body when consumed both as juice and pulp. This finding was recently published in an issue of the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry.

The research states that the Brazilian acai berry absorbed much better than any other fruit or food because of its high content of antioxidants. Because of this one super benefit, the berry is heavily marketed in the U.S. as a health food and has even entered the Dr. Perricone's list of super foods. The research conducted involved 12 healthy volunteers who consumed a single serving of acai juice or pulp.

Principal investigator Dr. Susanne Talcott said "Acai is naturally low in sugar, and the flavor is described as a mixture of red wine and chocolate, so what more would you want from a fruit?" Talcott, who also is assistant professor with the Texas A&M University's nutrition and food science department, said that previous studies have shown the ability of the human body to absorb target antioxidants (from other produce), but "no one had really tested to see if acai antioxidants are absorbed in humans."

Talcott noted that the size of the fruit is similar to a large blueberry with only the outermost layers of the fruit and the pulp surrounding the seed are edible.

A New Year Diet Special!

Traditionally men haven't bothered with their weight as much as women. But in today's health conscious society men are being encouraged to keep their weight down to avoid heart disease and other weight-related illnesses. More to the point, women just don't find beer bellies attractive.

The trouble is men are notoriously bad at going on diets and sticking to them. They far prefer a quick burst of frenetic activity at the gym followed by a pint or two with their mates than a longer term more structured calorie-counting regime.

However help is at hand for men who want to get their weight under control without too much bother. Kerry Kayes, former body builder and founder of CNP Professional has developed Pro-MR a protein shake meal replacement that helps cuts calories and kicks fat burning into action while also keeping the body fit and healthy.

Kerry is an expert when it comes to helping men get their weight down. In the past he's helped boxer Ricky Hatton shed bucket loads of weight before fights, and this year champion darts player Phil 'The Power' Taylor has lost over four stone after advice from Kerry about using CNP protein shakes and protein bars.

"These products are not only for sportsmen however," says Kerry Kayes. "Any man wanting to lose weight effectively but with the minimum of fuss should try a decent protein-based meal replacement shake – it's an option that really works. You want one that tastes good of course or else you'll just give up. At CNP we spend a lot of time getting the taste just right as well using the best raw material proteins."

Pro-MR is a high protein, low fat meal replacement shake that is ideal at lunchtimes instead of grabbing a high fat, high calorie fast food 'fix'. Taken alongside a sensible breakfast and evening meal, Pro-MR can shift a significant amount of weight. It is filling and helps to the curb food cravings that people usually get when trying to stick to diets. What's more if you also throw in a bit of decent exercise every day, then the weight loss can be even greater.

While a Pro-MR shake contains only 270 calories it provides over half of a man’s typical daily protein requirement. This high protein content helps with fat-burning and the proteins themselves are specially formulated to be easy to digest, filling and satisfying. Probiotic organisms have been included to help maintain and promote a healthier digestive system, and complex carbohydrates and a balanced vitamin and mineral profile ensure a healthy and effective approach to dietary adjustment.

The shakes are easy to mix up – no culinary expertise is needed. Simply tear open the sachet, pour into a shaker with water, then shake and drink. They are convenient for men who are on the move as they are easy to carry around and fill a mid-day gap much better than a pub sandwich and a beer – and much cheaper at about £1.70* per sachet.

There are three delicious flavours of Pro-MR – Wild Strawberry, Chocolate Malt and Vanilla

Personal Trainer Launches Aim to be Fit Women's Boot Camps

Mark Haner, a local fat loss expert and personal trainer based out of Lynnwood, WA, has recently launched Aim to be Fit Women's Boot Camps, a fitness boot camp designed for busy women. The boot camp program promises better results in half the time for a fraction of the cost of other personal training services.

Mark Haner believes he has the weight loss solution that women in North King and South Snohomish Counties are looking for at only a small fraction of the cost of typical personal training rates. "Personal training services are simply too expensive for most people and don't the results to match their price. My integrated rapid fat loss training and nutrition system is designed specifically to help women burn fat and lose weight fast. My clients typically lose anywhere from one to three pounds of fat per week in the program."

Aim to be Fit Women's Boot Camps accomplish this with their revolutionary fitness model that teaches large groups how to exercise and eat to meet their fitness goals. "My boot camps consist of 30-minute workouts for busy women based on a unique interval training system that burns far more fat than traditional forms of exercise like aerobics. Furthermore, I specifically design the workouts to address any fitness level and find the appropriate exercise progressions and regressions so that everybody can train at their current fitness level within the same workout."

Aim to be Fit Women's Boot Camps are based on the belief that most people are truly motivated to workout because they desire to look better. This is accomplished by losing unwanted body fat and gaining lean muscle mass, which in turn dramatically improves one's health and overall performance. "Very few people wake up early in the morning to prevent heart disease or diabetes, but a lot of them will do it to fit into a bikini or to get into a new pair of pants and that's fine. Some people feel guilty about wanting to look good, but realizing what motivates us is the first step to getting out the door and starting a health and fitness transformation. It's becoming common knowledge that obesity is the main cause of many of the health issues plaguing our society today. By taking care of your physique you will dramatically improve your health," says Haner.

A hallmark of this boot camp is the trademarked nutrition system, Eternal Eating, which features quick-start guides and cookbooks customized for busy women. Haner states: "Nutrition is 80 to 90 percent of the battle when it comes to fat loss. I leave nothing to chance by giving my clients everything they need to get the most rapid and lasting weight loss around." Aim to be Fit Women's Boot Camps further separates itself from the competition by providing this sort of in-depth support during non-camp hours.

Why You Should Get a Flu Shot

An Erie County woman is Pennsylvania's first state laboratory-confirmed case of influenza this season, the state Health Department said today.

"The announcement of our first confirmed flu case should be a reminder to all Pennsylvanians to take the necessary steps to remain healthy throughout flu season," said acting Health Secretary Everette James.

"Flu season has arrived and now is the time to protect your health and get vaccinated."

See Influenza Symptoms

The influenza vaccine is recommended for the following high-risk individuals:

-- All children 6 months through 18 years of age;

-- People 50 years of age and older regardless of their medical history;

-- People with underlying health conditions such as heart, respiratory, kidney, liver metabolic, and immune system problems;

-- People with weakened immune systems such as HIV/AIDS, long-term treatment of steroids, and cancer treatment with X-rays or drugs;

-- People who have cognitive dysfunction, and muscle or nerve disorders (such as spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy or seizure disorders) that can lead to breathing or swallowing problems;

-- People who are receiving long-term aspirin therapy who, therefore, might be at risk for Reyes syndrome after influenza infection;

-- Residents of nursing homes and other chronic-care facilities;

-- Women who will be pregnant anytime during the influenza season;

-- Household contacts and out-of-home caregivers of children 0-59 months of age;

-- Physicians, nurses, family members, or anyone else in close contact with any of these groups at risk for influenza;

-- Anyone wishing to reduce the likelihood of becoming ill from influenza.

Each year, an estimated 36,000 individuals die from influenza-related illnesses and more than 200,000 people are hospitalized nationwide. Rates of serious illness and death are highest among people over the age of 65 and individuals of any age who have chronic medical conditions that place them at increased risk for complications from influenza.

Recommended ways to prevent the spread of the flu include frequent handwashing, covering your nose and mouth when sneezing or coughing, and, when possible, avoiding contact with others when you are sick.

It is also important to consult with your medical provider as soon as the first symptoms of influenza appear since certain antiviral prescription drugs may lessen the duration and severity of the illness if taken early.

Flu cases traditionally peak between January and March, so individuals should consider getting vaccinated before peak flu season begins. It takes one to two weeks to build up immunity after receiving the flu vaccine.

Women Outperforming Men at Eating a Healthful Diet

New International Food Information Council (IFIC) Foundation research suggests women are more likely than men to be taking advantage of and eating foods to maintain overall health and wellness as well as for more specific benefits like improved feelings of fullness and digestive health. The new insight comes from further study of this year's 3rd annual IFIC Foundation Food & Health Survey which examines what consumers are thinking and doing about their food, nutrition and health.

Diet Defense is the ultimate hunger blocker!

According to the data both genders overwhelmingly believe(up to approximately 80%) that specific foods and beverages can provide a variety of benefits, but women are more likely than men to be consuming specific foods and beverages to:

- Maintain overall health & wellness (53% vs 46%)

- Provide higher levels of satiety (42% vs 27%)

- Improve digestive health (41% vs 33%)

- Diminish the effects of current health problems (34% vs 27%)

- Improve physical energy or stamina (34% vs 27%)

- Improve mental performance (34% vs 27%)

- Reduce the risk of getting specific diseases (33% vs 25%)

- Improve overall appearance (30% vs 20%)

In addition, the 2008 Food & Health Survey shows that women are more likely than men to be somewhat or extremely satisfied with their health status, but are also more concerned about their weight and more likely to be making changes to their diet to improve its healthfulness.

According to Wendy Reinhardt Kapsak, MS, RD, Director of Health and Nutrition at the IFIC Foundation, "There are real distinctions between what women and men do and think about the foods they consume." She adds, "It's clear these groups have different priorities and circumstances that influence what they do in regards to their nutritional habits."

The data were presented today during a special Web cast. Dr. Jenna Bell-Wilson, a nationally recognized dietitian and nutrition writer, talked about the importance of eating the right foods for women. "Women have unique nutritional needs that are not only different from men, but can shift throughout our lives. Starting in our teens, we focus on foods rich in calcium and vitamin D and a foundation of good habits, expanding to antioxidants in our 20's and 30's, and making our heart health a priority as we hit our 40's and above."

Meanwhile, Dr. Chris Mohr, a registered dietitian who has written hundreds of articles on men's nutrition and fitness, says, "As a society, we are often overfed yet undernourished. Loading up with the right nutrients can truly impact how you feel, keep your energy high, and reduce the risk of disease throughout your entire life. Focusing on fruits and vegetables, including high fiber foods, and opting for omega-3 fats is crucial for optimizing health and vitality."

They both agree that no matter what your gender, healthful eating should be a priority, and everyone can reap the benefits from a variety of foods that can help maintain health and wellness.

Athletes Plagued By Foot Injurys During Fall Sports Seasons

(Health & Fitness), With the 2008-09 football season still in its
fledgling stages, story lines for many teams in the spotlight have
evolved from the typical 'who to watch' to 'who's gone down now?' Chris
'Beanie' Wells
, starting running back for the Ohio State University
Buckeyes
, continues to recuperate from a right toe injury suffered
almost two weeks ago. National Football League (NFL) running back
LaDainian Tomlinson, star of the San Diego Chargers, also limped from
his team's opening game with a foot injury recently - which he quickly
brushed off as 'turf toe.' But how many athletes in fall sports, like
football, take these types of injuries too lightly?

According to the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA), both professional and amateur athletes
are at an extremely high risk for injuring their lower limbs during
play. Whether performing hairpin turns on artificial turf or taking
part in a powerful, high-speed collision with other players, foot and
ankle injury risks for athletes run rampant - and participating in a
favorite sport should always involve playing it safe.

"Stress fractures of the foot, ankle sprains and ligament injuries
are all, unfortunately, quite common in popular fall sports such as
football," said Dr. David Davidson, APMA member and podiatric medical
consultant for the Buffalo Bills of the NFL. "From maintaining proper
conditioning to wearing sport-specific footwear, athletes can function
at peak performance much more often when constantly maintaining high
levels of footcare safety."

The most common acute injuries in fall sports
as well as treatments and preventative tips recommended by the APMA:

• Sprains - Hard sprinting often leads to stretched or torn ligaments,
also known as sprains. Severe sprains may also cause ankle swelling,
much like a fracture.

Treatment - Sprains that don't show improvement in three days should be
seen by a podiatric physician immediately. Possible casting,
immobilization and a rehabilitation regimen may all be prescribed.

Tips to Avoid Them - Take part in proper warm-up exercises before and
after home workouts, practice and games. Spend five to 10 minutes
stretching, holding and relaxing muscles.

• Fractures - Fractures occur when a bone has been broken.

Treatment - Casting, and sometimes even surgery performed by a
podiatric surgeon, is required to properly immobilize fractures and set
breaks. Ten to 12 weeks are usually required for rehabilitation.

Tips to Avoid Them - Look for sport-specific footwear that contains
extra padding in cleated shoes, which helps to prevent stress fractures
- incomplete fractures in bones are typically caused by overuse.

• Turf Toe - Named for the playing field on which it is common, turf
toe is a painful hyperextension of the big toe joint. While competing
on artificial turf is the leading cause of this condition, it can also
occur on natural surfaces such as grass.

Treatment - Turf toe treatment usually includes the 'RICE' regimen, which stands for Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation.

Tips to Avoid It - Wearing a stiffer shoe can prevent aggravating this
injury further. Customized foot orthotics may also be worn during play
to protect against turf toe.

Angelina Jolie Could Have Avoided Postpartum Depression

(Health & Fitness), Angelina Jolie gave birth to her twins in July. Before long, news that she was struggling with symptoms similar to postpartum depression was being reported. This is not surprising, given that 80% of women suffer from mood instability after giving birth. Experts believe that the emotional turmoil women experience in the early postpartum period is due in large part to the massive hormonal fluctuation that happens those first few days postpartum.

The placenta is incredibly beneficial for this transition period. Far from being a useless waste product at birth, it contains everything the mother's body needs to recover from the pregnancy and birth, in the exact levels that she needs. Since it was made by her body, it is perfectly suited to her unique system. The placenta can be dried, ground, and put into capsules. This makes it much easier to ingest, and most women (and their husbands) call the capsules their "happy pills".

PlacentaBenefits.info is the leading resource website for placenta encapsulation research and testimonials. Since its launch in 2006, it has been educating women about the benefits of placenta for postpartum recovery. As a result, placenta encapsulation is quickly becoming the hottest trend in pregnancy and birth. Women all over the nation are discovering the fabulous relief they experience from their placenta capsules.

Candace raves, "I had suffered with postpartum depression after the birth of my first son and was willing to try drying, grinding and ingesting the placenta the second time around. The result? A trouble- free, totally healthy and energetic postpartum. I would highly recommend it!!".

Kristi says, "I forgot one day of pills, and felt fine, so I decided to (try going without them). That was a mistake! I was miserable, yelled at my older kids, couldn't stand to hear the baby cry, and just sat all day. So, I'm taking them again now and they're working again. Night and day difference! I realized I hadn't enjoyed looking at my baby's soft little chubby face for two days! I just don't want to run out. My husband told me to please keep taking them!"

PlacentaBenefits.info (PBi), offers resources for women to help them use the placenta for their postpartum recovery. It features a directory of nationwide Placenta Encapsulation Specialists who are trained and certified in the timeless art of placenta encapsulation through PBi's unique training and certification course. These dedicated professionals will prepare the placenta for the new mother. PBi also offers the DIY Placenta Encapsulation Kit for those women who would like to prepare the placenta themselves.

PlacentaBenefits.info is bringing placenta encapsulation to modern women. Taking placenta capsules is an easy way to recover from pregnancy and childbirth. Angelina Jolie, letalone 80% of all mothers, should not have to suffer from the baby blues. Women just want to feel normal, like themselves, after giving birth. PlacentaBenefits.info helps women have a better postpartum recovery.

National Survey Reveals Impact of ADHD in Adults

(Health & Fitness), Adults diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) say that having ADHD significantly impacts their ability to focus at work, as well as their responsibilities at home and their relationships. These findings were according to a national survey including more than 1,000 adults across the United States diagnosed with the condition.

McNeil Pediatrics™, Division of Ortho-McNeil-Janssen Pharmaceuticals,Inc, sponsored the survey as part of its commitment to the ADHD community's 2008 National ADHD Awareness Day.

ADHD is thought to affect about 9 million adults in the United States, and research on the life span of the condition notes the disorder can impair academic, social and occupational functioning, and is often associated with academic underachievement, conduct problems, underemployment, motor vehicle safety and difficulties with personal relationships.

"Findings from today's survey underscore the impact ADHD can have for adults who are struggling to cope with and manage this condition at work, at home and in their relationships," said Dr. Edward Hallowell, a practicing psychiatrist and founder of the Hallowell Center for Cognitive and Emotional Health in Sudbury, Mass. "As a psychiatrist who has treated adults with the condition for more than 25 years, and as an adult who was diagnosed with ADHD at age 31, I know firsthand the importance of working with a healthcare professional to identify strategies that may be effective in controlling ADHD symptoms, such as behavioral modifications and medication."

The survey findings on adults with ADHD reinforce previous findings from a recent World Health Organization (WHO) report, which concluded ADHD is a relatively common condition among working adults and is associated with impairment and work performance. The WHO survey also found that only a small number of employed adults with ADHD are being treated for the condition, even though evidence shows medication can be effective in improving ADHD symptoms, and that on average, adult workers with ADHD miss more than three weeks a year in workplace productivity.

Adult ADHD Survey Findings

Conducted by Harris Interactive on behalf of McNeil Pediatrics™, key
survey findings included a variety of participant perspectives,
including:

•    Most adults with ADHD agree that having the condition strongly
affects their performance in multiple areas of their lives, including:

o    Their responsibilities at home (65 percent)

o    Their relationships with family and friends (57 percent)

o    Their ability to succeed at work (56 percent of those employed)

•    Up to half (50 percent) of those employed worry ADHD symptoms
affect opportunities for promotion, and the majority feel they have to
work harder (65 percent) and/or longer (47 percent) than their
co-workers to accomplish similar work.

•    Three-quarters of respondents said their ADHD symptoms strongly
affect their ability to stay on task at work (75 percent), while others
listed challenges such as:

o    Concentrating on what others were saying (70 percent)

o    Wrapping up projects (61 percent)

o    Following through on tasks (61 percent)

o    Sitting still in meetings (60 percent)

o    Organizing projects (59 percent)

•    Just as their needs differ, adults with ADHD report divergent
goals in managing ADHD symptoms. In selecting their top three goals for
managing the condition, half cited being able to finish projects and
tasks (51 percent), and getting their household more organized (51
percent). Other top-three goals included:

o    Feeling less irritable and upset (38 percent)

o    Getting personal finances more organized (28 percent)

o    Improving personal relationships (26 percent)

o    Feeling calmer and to feel less need to always be moving (22 percent)

o    Getting along better with others in social situations (20 percent)

•    One-third (36 percent) feel their ADHD symptoms are not under
control, and many more (58 percent) are not satisfied with their
ability to handle stress.

o    Of those whom symptoms are not under control, 54 percent feel like a failure for it.

•    One-third (37 percent) get depressed thinking about how hard ADHD is to deal with.

Adults with ADHD who participated in the survey also reported utilizing
a variety of techniques to help manage their symptoms. Four out of five
have used visual reminders, such as post-it notes, to help manage their
ADHD symptoms. Those in the survey also reported:

•    Taking prescription medication (82 percent)

•    Listening to music (75 percent)

•    Using a planner or organizer (71 percent)

•    Exercising (69 percent)

Of those adults on medication, four out of five (81 percent) reported
that not taking medication negatively impacts their work or home
performance. Patients on medication said they are focused primarily on
goals of symptom control and improving performance at work (74
percent), at home (69 percent) and in relationships (62 percent).

"I was diagnosed two years ago after I realized that some of the stress
I felt from trying to keep up with my career, home and family might be
more than stress," said Natalie Knochenhauer, a former public defender,

Can You Really Burn Fat with Tea?

(Diet & Weight Loss), With all the hype about diet tea and weight loss going around lately, the consumerunderground.com team did some investigating.

Claims from the companies who make tea range anywhere from increased energy, weight loss, cancer prevention, anti-aging, stopping certain neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, fat burning properties and more.

Joy Bauer, a New York City nutritionist, says (the catechins in green tea) increase levels of the metabolism speeding brain chemical norepinephrine (noradrenaline).

Conducting a little experiment, with three women, ranging in height and weight, each drink a different weight loss tea for 30 days. They each drank 2 cups of tea a day and continued with their normal eating and exercise habits. They were weighed in before starting the tea and after 30 days of drinking the tea.

While none of these women reported any miracle disease cures one reported that she felt increased brain activity at work, which she assumed was from drinking the tea. Additionally each one reported some weight loss, which is very positive. Overall, it's safe to conclude that drinking enhanced green tea products to assist your weight loss is a worthy pursuit in your well rounded fitness program.

It also helps, of course, if you lay off the snacks.

Get Sexy Milwaukee Boot Camps Fitness Transformation a Success

(Health & Fitness), Six months ago, Milwaukee-based Get Sexy Boot Camps surprised viewers of a local morning TV show called "The Morning Blend" with an opportunity to lose fat and regain control of their health. After an intense application process and audience poll, six viewers were chosen to partake in an exercise and nutrition program for four phases of their boot camps.

The transformation ended August 1st, with remarkable results. The only male in the group and one-half of a husband and wife duo, Paul Lundh, lost a total of 80 pounds. By the end of the contest he no longer had the need for a CPAP machine or blood pressure medication. His wife, Lisa, did her part by losing 40 lbs and dropping four dress sizes.

Each contestant was over 40 years old. This population has a particularly difficult time losing excess body fat due to a slowed metabolism and hormonal changes. BJ Gaddour, head trainer at Get Sexy Boot Camps, welcomed the challenge: "I constantly encounter women over 40 who have just given up on trying to lose fat. There is so much misinformation out there combined with the fact that physically, mentally, and emotionally, many women are simply not in the optimal state to lose weight when they start. However, it is definitely possible to lose weight when you are a female over 40, you just need the right tools."

The "right tools" are a completely integrated training and nutrition system according to Gaddour. He claims "Our classic rapid fat loss training program consists of performing body weight-based resistance training workouts three days per week at our Get Sexy Milwaukee Boot Camps combined with high-intensity interval training cardio workouts performed at home three days per week on non-boot camp days.

Plus over 80% of the fat loss game is nutrition-related and we provide our tried and proven Eternal Eating Nutrition System complete with quick-start guides and cookbooks for males and women so they can eat to support their fat loss goals." Although there are six total workouts a week, they are only twenty minutes each, or as Gaddour calls them: "EXPRESS Workouts baby!"

Get Sexy Boot Camps claims these 20-minute interval training sessions burn nine times more fat than the traditional failed weight loss approach of low to moderate intensity endurance training workouts lasting 45-60 minutes or longer. Gaddour continues saying: "Intensity is truly the only thing that make the human body change. That's why we can get our clients more than twice the results in less than half the time."

El Sangalang, a new mother, was struggling to get rid of her post pregnancy weight gain when she entered and subsequently won a spot in the Get Sexy Milwaukee Transformation Contest. Using the Get Sexy Boot Camps system, she was able to simultaneously lose 24 pounds of fat and gain six pounds of lean muscle mass. In the end, she emerged in the best shape of her life. "Even before my son, I was 115 lbs, but I was flabby, I didn't even like wearing shorts because I had cellulite. After this transformation, I am back down to my pre-baby weight, but I am much more toned and a whole lot tighter.

Needless to say, my husband is thrilled!" The other three females lost a combined weight of 100 pounds. "This is just what they were able to accomplish in only 20 weeks, just imagine how much more they will continue to lose in the weeks and months to come," says Gaddour.

Studies Show Fantasy Football Improves Morale and Increases Work Productivity

(Health & Fitness), As the NFL football season kicks off in the next two weeks, U.S. businesses may be worrying about their employees playing fantasy football during work hours. But now there is a company providing a solution to the problem.

FantasyFootballStarters.com, a website that offers free fantasy football software, provides instant on-demand predictions to thousands of fantasy football fans to help them draft a fantasy roster, analyze trade offers and help them set their weekly line-up in a matter of minutes.

Why should employers care? According to a report from research firm Challenger Gray & Christmas Inc., fantasy football will cost U.S. employers $9.2 billion in lost productivity in 2008 alone.

The Fantasy Sports Trade Association estimates close to 20 million NFL fans play fantasy football and spend on average five hours a week researching and thinking about which players to start on their fantasy football roster.

Challenger, Gray and Christmas estimate that workers spend at least an hour per week managing their team on company time. Experts say that the habit of seeking out fantasy football advice during work is likely to continue, and it would be unwise for employers to attempt to crack down on their employees for the practice.

"Behavior never changes; people will continue to research their fantasy football picks and if there is a tool out their making it faster, easier and fun to use, let them use it," says Lori Coruccini, president and CEO of Predix, a management consulting firm that specializes in providing behavioral assessments to U.S. companies.

Fantasy football is becoming mainstream and studies have proven employers that provide a little perk like this during business hours to employees will go a very long way at sustaining positive morale."

Well it sounds like you should go have fun!

Why Binaural Beats Will help You Sleep More Soundly

(Health & Fitness), Your first question maybe something like “What are binaural beats”? The answer is, Binaural Beats are sounds that are not apparent outside the brain, they are produced by sound frequencies alternating from ear to ear.

Binaural beats are used to induce a variety of states of consciousness, there has been some work done in regards to the effects of these stimuli on relaxation, focus, attention, and states of consciousness.

Your brain aligns to the differences of these two aural tones by changing its dominant frequency and effectively altering your state of consciousness this is called brainwave entrainment.

Binaural Beats can be used to induce relaxation to the point that you fall asleep without knowing your asleep. These beats will also block out unwanted noise such as someone snoring or traffic sounds that come from a street. I have used binaural beats for about three months and I have noticed a significant increase in relaxation levels and soundness of sleep.

One place to get free binaural beats is at Idose. You will need an Ipod and some time to relax.

Please let us know your thoughts by leaving comments about these two questions.

Have you used Binaural beats? How have these beats helped you?

What You Should Know About Exercise Mats

Exercise mats are porous and coated with a layer of vinyl, PVC or some other water-resistant material. Exercise mats are a versatile tool that can assist any home fitness program and they are essential if you have a hard floor. An exercise mat will help make floor exercises and stretching exercises more comfortable.

Exercise mats are used primarily to cushion the blow between your body and the floor. Whether for yoga, pilates, martial arts, or for a kid's playroom using exercise mats is a common-sense way to prevent injury to yourself and property.

With a focus on shock absorption and an eye on your budget, this post gives you the scoop on exercise mats without overloading you with irrelevant and obscure technical information. You can use exercise mats for yoga and pilates and you can use yoga and pilates mats for other exercises and stretches.

Most exercise mats you will find in most exercise areas are medium-duty mats of solid colors, and are 3/4 inches thick. If you’re doing vigorous aerobic exercise, thick exercise mats are needed. Since most of your time will be spent on the ground, it only makes sense that you use an exercise mat to protect your body.

Exercise mats start at about $25 online. The best exercise mats we have found are from Sportsmith.net and they have every size, shape and color you could imagine. They even have Eco Yoga Mats as well. Eco Yoga Mats are PVC Free and do not contain phthalates or heavy metals. Eco Yoga Mats are very important particularly if you have allergies to PVC.

Females Would Starve For Fashion?

32% of British females would starve for their fashion, and half of the female population are spending more on clothes and accessories each month than they are on food, according to a celebrity fashion website, prompting the new diet phrase "fashiorexia".

The British public have been gorging themselves on fashion, not food, this summer so far, with nearly half, 49%, of people admitting to spending more on looking good than eating, and 18% of people spending more than half their wages each month on clothes and accessories.

Despite the Credit Crunch and reports that the public are now spending less on non-essential items, 49% of fashion hungry shoppers are spending more on their appearance on a monthly basis than food, according to research of 4,315 female members of the general public by star style stealing website MyCelebrityFashion.co.uk

A huge 32% of the women polled said that they would prefer to go without food if it meant making a fashion purchase, confessing, when asked, to belonging to the term 'fashiorexic', pronounced fash-o-rexic. 28% of people claim that this 'diet' keeps their weight in check. When broken down further, a huge 52% of 18-25 year olds belong to this train of thought.

The study found that the majority of the public; 34%, spend between £100-150 per person on food per month. In contrast, the average outlay of those polled was 11% of their wages, or £173.36.

71% of 18-25 year old females spend £150+ per month on clothing and accessories, of which 16% spend more than half their wages on looking good.

The biggest surprise is in the 31 - 40 year old category, where 21% of women claimed to spend more than half of their wages on fashion, and 56% admit to spending more on fashion than eating.

Speaking about the results, celebrity fashion websiteMyCelebrityFashion.co.uk

Head Fashionista, Jill Tovey said,

"Fashion is clearly still a thriving industry, despite the economy. More people are searching for the best deals and bargains online rather than traipse the high streets, and clearly enjoying themselves whilst doing it!"

"With regards to 'fashiorexia', I and MyCelebrityFashion would never advocate eating unhealthily for the sake of fashion, and believe in balance."

Going Back to School With Asthma Shouldn't Cause Anxiety

As the school bells get ready to ring, parents and other caregivers of children who have asthma should prepare for a possible peak in asthma episodes (also known as attacks or exacerbations). According to the American Lung Association of the Upper Midwest, the greatest number of asthma hospitalizations occurs in the fall, usually September.

The fall increase may be caused by respiratory infections, increased pollen, and outdoor mold counts. Children going back to school also have more contact with other children in an indoor environment, possibly increasing their exposure to viral and bacterial respiratory infections which can lead to an asthma episode.

"Parents and guardians can prepare for this possible increase in asthma episodes by scheduling a 'well-asthma' visit with the child's asthma provider," said Harold Wimmer, CEO of the American Lung Association of the Upper Midwest. "At this visit, health care providers should review or develop an Asthma Action Plan for the child."

According to the Lung Association, parents and guardians should:

1. Obtain an up-do-date Asthma Action Plan from the health care provider and forward copies to the school health office and/or childcare provider.

2. Ensure the child has rescue medications (often called albuterol) and holding chambers (also called spacers) available at home and school/childcare. Make sure rescue medication inhalers are not outdated or empty.

3. Ensure the child has access to his/her asthma medications and knows how to use them.

4. Reduce exposure to things that could trigger an asthma attack such as allergens and secondhand smoke.

5. Schedule an influenza vaccine appointment when the vaccine is available.

6. Teach children to wash their hands frequently with soap and water both at home and school.

Children whose asthma is well-controlled can participate in all activities just like anyone else, including sports, gym and other aerobic type activities by following an Asthma Action Plan and providers' instructions.

Signs that a child's asthma is well controlled include:

· Ability to participate in all physical activities without developing asthma symptoms. Sleeping through the night without episodes of coughing and wheezing.

· No missed school days due to asthma or other respiratory illnesses.

· No emergency room, urgent care or unscheduled provider office visits.

If your child is having symptoms or asthma episodes, the American Lung Association of the Upper Midwest advises parents and caregivers to schedule an appointment with the child's health care provider as soon as possible to resolve these issues.

Registered nurses and respiratory therapists can also answer your questions about asthma and other lung diseases free of charge: contact 1-800-LUNG-USA for more details.

Get Back to Basics With Your Own Home Gym

After 25 years of inventing and manufacturing fitness equipment, Shifferaw felt it was time to go back to basics. He developed the DG5 with three simple objectives in mind; helping people get into maximum shape for minimal time and money.

The ultra-sleek, red solid-steel of the DG5 makes it look as cool as it performs. The extensive list of patented bells and whistles found on the compact home gym is dizzying. The bench includes a Lift-Assist System which acts as your own personal spotter, an adjustable Depth-Limiter Bar for the most effective squat, a Leg-Extension System which converts dumbbells into leg weights and much more. The gym even includes two 45 lb adjustable dumbbells with a system to safely store the weights when not in use.

Shifferaw says, "Many people need to tighten their belts right now, so they're canceling gym memberships and saving on gas. We kept that in mind when determining the price, a soft economy doesn't have to equal a soft body." The DG5 is like a compact fitness club. You can perform over 40 exercises, literally working every muscle in your body, in a 5 square foot space.

The DG5 isn't the only product Shifferaw has introduced to the fitness market since the Bowflex. After taking Bowflex, Inc. public and selling the company and rights to The Nautilus Group, Shifferaw went on to develop and market several successful fitness products including the Kathy Smith Ab-Lifter Plus®, Torso-Toner® and the Powerboard® to name a few. Shifferaw currently holds 20 worldwide patents, 4 pending patents and a top-secret list of future fitness products up his sleeve.

The DG5 is being offered for $479.00 (plus $99 shipping) through the dosho.com website. Dosho Design, Inc. began testing commercials for the DG5 in June and has had favorable results so far. Shifferaw said the company is working on their media plan based on initial testing, so plan on seeing the DG5 on your TV and computer monitor soon.

Stop Sending Kids to an Early Grave

(Health & Fitness), Millions of children worldwide are overweight and are now at greater risk than ever for chronic and potentially lethal health problems. Help them safely kick those destructive habits with Your Slim Vision for Kids, a revolutionary new weight loss program.

grave

Studies have shown that our fat cells multiply until the age of 20, and never decrease in number throughout adulthood. Since most obese kids remain obese as adults, it is critical to reach this age group through programs that address the issues of diet, fast food, and a sedentary lifestyle. Obesity facts gleaned from recent research by Inge Lissau, Ph.D., of Denmark, revealed that U.S. children were the most likely to be overweight - 12.6% of 13 year old boys and 10.8% of 13 year old girls. At 15 years of age, the numbers increase substantially to 13.9% for the boys and 15.1% for the girls.

"We need to give these children the tools necessary to reduce the risks associated with childhood obesity," says Beverly Rothstein, President of Your Slim Body, LLC. "It is critical that we help these kids without the use of drugs or other short-term fixes," she added.

Your Slim Body, LLC, is based in Coral Springs, Florida. Rothstein launched the company in 2006 and most recently introduced her Neuro Linguistic Program (NLP) on XM Radio. The program, specifically for children ages 12 to 18, is easy to use and will help them successfully lose weight and develop healthy lifestyle choices from the comfort and privacy of their own home.

The complete NLP step-by-step weight loss program is contained in one box and is easy to use. Previously incorporated into teens' health and fitness programs in addition to distribution through health industry professionals and organizations, the program is now being offered directly to individuals.
